A Beautiful Story
The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation:
Boy : “Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?
Woman : (at the other end of the phone line) “I already have someone to cut my lawn.”
Boy : “Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price than the person who cuts your lawn now.”
Woman : I’m very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.
Boy : (with more perseverance) “Lady, I’ll even sweep the floor and the stairs of your house for free.
Woman : No, thank you. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy.
Store Owner : “Son… I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job.”
Boy : “No thanks,
Store Owner : But you were really pleading for one.
Boy : No Sir, I was just checking my performance at
the job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was talking to!”
** This is called self Appraisal”** Give your best and the world comes to you!!!!!

Homemade Antibacterial, Antiviral, Antifungal Garlic Ear Drops
- Chopped garlic cloves
- Glass jar
- Olive oil
- Dropper
- Lavender essential oil (optional)
Directions:
- Place garlic cloves in glass bottle and pour olive oil over the chopped garlic. The oil should fully cover the garlic and even rise an inch or so over the garlic as well.
- Place the jar on a window sill or the like for a few days. The warmth of the Sun will allow the oil to absorb more garlic and at a much faster rate. Don't allow it to absorb too much heat or direct Sunlight or it may ruin the properties of the mixture.
- After a few days have passed, filter the oil through either a coffee filter or a few layers of cheesecloth and pour the filtered oil into your dropper bottle.
- Optionally you can add a drop of lavender essential oil per ounce or two of oil. This will add more effectiveness and storage life to your ear drops.
If stored sealed and in a cool, dry place the oil should last a year or more. However, many will suggest that the ear drops be made and then immediately used within just a few days. That is a personal choice. However, it is up to you to decide how you will store your ear drops, for how long and you are responsible for checking them for freshness before use.

Do's And Dont's About Diet For High Uric acid Levels
These nutrition tips will help you manage your uric acid levels.
- High-fibre foods : According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, adding foods high in dietary fibre may help lower uric acid levels in your blood. Dietary fibre may help absorb uric acid in your bloodstream, allowing it to be eliminated from your body through your kidneys. Increase the consumption of dietary soluble fibres such as Isabgol, Oats, Spinach, Broccoli to name few.
- Cold-pressed olive oil : Use cold-pressed olive oil in cooking instead of shortening, butter or vegetable oils. Oils that have been subjected to heat or processing turn rancid quickly. Rancid fats destroy vitamin E in your body - this vitamin is necessary for controlling uric acid levels. Olive oil helps you avoid the production of excess uric acid, which is associated with the consumption of rancid fats.
- Take in a healthy dose of vitamin C : To help reduce the amount of uric acid in your system, regularly taking 500 milligrams of vitamin C will decrease your uric acid levels in a month or two.
- Avoid bakery products : Avoid cakes, pastries, cookies and other sugary delights which are rich in saturated fats and trans fats.
- Celery seed extract : This is also a popular natural remedy for gout and uric acid problems. The seeds of the celery plant have long been used to treat gout, rheumatism and arthritis. Celery possesses sedative, antioxidant and mild diuretic action and is considered a urinary antiseptic. In rare cases, this herb is also used to treat sleeplessness, anxiety and nervous breakdown. Although the seeds of this plant are often used in herbal supplements, the roots may also be used.
- Antioxidant-rich foods : Fruits and vegetables such as red bell peppers, tomatoes, blueberries, broccoli and grapes are rich sources of antioxidant vitamins. Antioxidants which are vitamins that prevent free radical molecules from attacking your organ and muscle tissue cells may help lower uric acid levels.
- Cherries : Cherries contain chemical compounds that may help neutralise uric acid allowing your body to eliminate this acid as waste. Some researchers recommend consuming 30 to 40 cherries every four hours during an attack.
- Apple cider vinegar : It is believed that raw, apple cider vinegar can help alleviate high uric acid levels by changing the pH values of your blood. But it has to be raw, un-distilled, un-pasteurised apple cider vinegar; the kind you get from your local health food store.
- Saturated fat, trans fat, sugar and alcohol : All these affect your triglycerides, a type of fat that can clog your arteries and increase your risk for heart attacks and strokes.
- High-fructose corn syrup : This is a type of sweetener in soft drinks and other processed foods that can elevate your levels of triglyceride and uric acid - a chemical associated with diabetes, gout, alcoholism, kidney disease and other health problems.
- Drink plenty of fluids to help flush uric acid from your body : Drink a minimum of 3 and 1/2 liters of water daily. Water is a medium that aids the kidney to 'strain' the impurities from your body.
- Also avoid high-protein weight-loss diets which can cause you to produce too much uric acid (hyperuricemia).
- Limit meat, poultry and fish - animal proteins are high in purine and this will result in high uric acid levels in the body.
- Limit or avoid alcohol : Alcohol interferes with the elimination of uric acid from your body. Drinking beer in particular has been linked to gout attacks. If you are prone to uric acid attacks, limit alcohol consumption to one drink three times a week.
- Choose complex carbohydrates : Eat more whole grains, fruits and vegetables and fewer refined carbohydrates such as white bread, cakes and candy. Because foods rich in complex carbohydrates promote feelings of fullness, and prevent overeating and are useful in maintaining a healthy weight.

What To Do When Your Child Has A Toothache
First, make sure it’s a toothache. Depending on how well your child can communicate, he or she may actually have sore gums or a bitten tongue. Quite often a toothache can also be caused by emerging teeth.
Tooth decay can be another reason for a child’s toothache, even a very young child. If a child loses a primary tooth before it is ready to come out, this can cause a tooth to hurt as well, particularly if the tooth is wiggled or pulled too hard.
One of the most frequent causes of a child’s toothache, which tends to be overlooked, is a piece of food stuck between two teeth. This kind of irritation can cause a child considerable discomfort. When your child complains of an aching tooth, the first thing you should do is to look inside their mouth and examine the area where it hurts. Try to see if any food particles are lodged there. If so, help your child use dental floss to gently remove any bits of food you see. Look for a chipped tooth or a filling that might be loose or missing, as these can be other causes of a child’s toothache.
Plain, warm water can help relieve a child’s toothache, especially if tooth enamel is cracked. Give your child a glass of warm water to rinse their mouth before spitting it back out. Have them rinse again whenever the tooth begins to hurt. A teaspoon of table salt mixed in a glassful of warm water can soothe irritated and swollen gums as well. However, some toothaches actually feel better using cold water instead of warm. Applying an ice pack wrapped in a towel to the outside of the cheek may help, too.
Avoid feeding your child salty or hot foods, as they can irritate an already painful tooth even more. Extremely cold foods can have the same effect. Until your child feels better, consuming only soft foods and liquids at room temperature is best. Biting down too hard while chewing, or eating sugary snacks and drinking fruit juices can irritate the area if a cavity is the problem. You should also encourage your child to keep their jaw relaxed so that their upper and lower teeth do not touch. This prevents placing pressure on the sensitive tooth.
Distracting your child from the pain might sound too simple, but it often works. Take your child’s mind off the pain by reading to them or allowing them to watch a favorite movie or play a favorite game.
Over the counter pain relievers can help ease the discomfort of a toothache, but make sure you give the correct dosage, according to the instructions on the bottle. Medication for children should be administered according to age and weight. The use of products containing aspirin put children at risk for developing Reye’s syndrome, a neurological disorder that primarily attacks the nervous system of children and teens so do not give your child aspirin for pain.
These remedies can help keep the pain manageable until you can schedule your child to see a dentist. If you think your child needs to be seen please give us a call and let us know what the symptoms are. Signs to look for are: a brown cavity that is visible in the painful tooth, a red or yellow lump present at the gum line of the painful tooth, or if the toothache does not go away within 12-24 hours.
If your child looks or acts very sick you need to contact your dentist or doctor immediately. Also, check for fever and swelling in their face as well as severe pain. Sometimes you might be able to administer some over the counter medicine for tooth pain, but if it is persistent after 2 hours of taking the medicine, you need to contact your dentist or doctor right away. Of course contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.
Make sure to schedule regular dental checkups for your child and supervise your child’s tooth brushing routine to prevent cavities. Serve your child a well-balanced diet of tooth friendly foods and limit those foods that can cause tooth decay. You can also help to prevent sports injuries to your child’s teeth by having your child wear a mouth guard.

The Half Sari Is Back
It seems that Deepika Padukone sets fashion trends in every film she does — from palazzo pants in Cocktail to nerdy glasses in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The latest trend the Bangalore girl has brought back in vogue is the half sari, which she wore in Chennai Express.
Follow the rules:
- You can wear half saris with flats. If you are going for heels, you can wear ethnic wedges.
- Choose the right accessories. If the half sari is plain, opt for heavy jewellery. If there is too much work, go for a heavy neck-piece or just earrings.
- If you are going for a plain half sari, opt for contrasting colours rather than matching your skirt, dupatta and your blouse with the same colour.
- When opting for a designer half sari, make sure at least one element of it stands out. For instance, if you are wearing a plain duppata, make sure the blouse and skirt have heavy work.
- Keep your hairdo simple. Go for a side braid or a neat bun.
- The best part about wearing half saris is that you can mix and match your dupatta with any skirt and blouse.
- So go ahead and try something new.
- If you want to go completely ethnic and traditional, go for a maang tika and anklets.
- You can convert your half sari into a lehenga by just wrapping the dupatta in a different manner.
- For a sexy look, wear a well-fitted blouse and drape your dupatta in such a way that it partially covers your bust.
- If you want to cover your flabby arms, go for a full-sleeved blouse. But make sure you use full-sleeved blouses only for net or cotton materials.
Comfortable Clothing Tips For Road Trips
- Sweat Pants: Sweat pants are the ultimate lounging gear. They are usually the go-to article of comfortable clothing when you want to veg out in front of the television and work equally as well for sitting through a long road trip.
- Cotton T-Shirt: Comfortable clothes for road trips wouldn't be complete without a cotton t-shirt. Cotton t-shirts are extremely breathable and will help keep you from feeling claustrophobic. A looser t-shirt is better than a tight one, so you don't feel constrained by your clothing.
- Light Jacket : As far as comfortable clothes for road trips go, a lightweight jacket has many functions. This comfortable clothing item allows you to add another layer clothing when you are too cold. A jacket can also be taken off with ease, when the car becomes too warm. A jacket can also be used to cover your legs for warmth. You will be grateful for a jacket, if you end up having to walk in the rain.
- Flip Flops: No comfortable clothing for road trips list could be complete without mentioning flip-flops. Flip flops are the ultimate comfortable clothes in footwear. There is something about having your feet stuck in the floorboard, for hours, that make your shoes seem to expand two sizes. This doesn't seem to happen, when you wear sandals. Flip-flops also let your feet breathe and increase the charge of freedom you get from being on the road.
- Sunglasses: Sunglasses are also multi-functional, when it comes to comfortable clothes for road trips. Their obvious use is to keep the sun out of the eyes of the driver and passengers.

Secrets Of Kids Who Rarely Gets Sick
- Keep hands clean.
- Regular hand-washing dramatically reduces the passing of respiratory and gastrointestinal illness, so get your kids in the (or using a hand sanitizer) when they leave preschool or day care, after every playdate, and before they eat. Teach kids to sing "Happy Birthday" to themselves twice before rinsing -- scrubbing for 15-20 seconds is key.
- Be active every day.
- Studies indicate that regular, moderate exercise can reduce the number of cold and flu episodes that occur over the course of a year by 25-50 percent, possibly by boosting the circulation of infection-fighting cells. "Exercise is better than any advertised cure or miracle," says Harley A. Rotbart, M.D., Parents advisor and author of Germ Proof Your Kids: the Complete Guide to Protecting (Without Overprotecting) Your Family from Infections (ASM Press, 2007).
- Get plenty of ZZZs.
- Make sure kids stick to an early bedtime. Sleep deprivation nearly doubles the risk of getting a cold or flu, Dr. Rotbart says. Most babies need approximately 14 hours of sleep a day; preschoolers need 11-13 hours of Z's.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Cold and flu viruses enter the body through the nose, eyes, and mouth, so help your child keep her hands away from those areas. Yes, it can be very difficult to accomplish -- hand-washing at strategic moments is all the more important. Teach your child never to share a straw, cup, or toothbrush.
- Consume a balanced and healthy diet.
- Meals with plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables will help boost your child's immune system. Look for foods rich in vitamin C (broccoli, strawberries, and oranges) and vitamin D (tuna, fortified milk, and cereals). Eating yogurt with active cultures (probiotics) can also help build defenses.
- Get the flu vaccine.
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says it's the single best way to prevent the flu. What are you waiting for?

Basic Manners Kids Should Learn
- Teach your child to say “please” if he wants anything.
- If he gets anything then he should say “thank you”.
- Your child should know that he should not interrupt between the elders. Tell him that interfering or speaking in between the conversations of the grownups is a bad habit. If he wants to say something then he should wait for his chance to come.
- If you want to speak or interfere in someone’s conversation then you can use some courteous terms like “excuse me”.
- If you think that doing something would land you up in trouble then it’s better to take permission before doing such things. Also before touching and using someone else’s thing tale their permission.
- Do not say or use negative and wrong words in front of anyone and especially in front of elder people.
- Do not say anything bad or negative about anyone. God has made everyone the same and teach your child that poking fun on anyone’s physical appearance is like making fun of God.
- If someone asks you how you are doing then politely tell them and also ask them the same question.
- If you go to your friends place then do not forget to thank your friend’s parents for inviting you.
- Before entering anyone’s room always knock and ask for permission.
- When you call your friend and if anyone else receives the call then first introduce yourself and then ask them to call the person you want to talk to.
- If someone gifts you something then say “thank you”.
- Do not use slangs in front of elder people. It is like insulting them.
- Do not make fun of others by giving them mean and rude nicknames. It can be hurting for the elders and ultimately would cast a bad impression of the child.
- Be kind and polite to everyone. Do not be harsh and cruel.
- If you find anything boring then do not be rude and say it out loud. Be patient and sit and wait for the event to get over.
- If by mistake you hit someone or in a hurry, bump into someone then say sorry.
- If you want side but any elder is standing in the way then say “excuse me” and ask for the side.
- While sneezing don’t forget to cover your nose and mouth with your hands or handkerchief.
- If you meet any of your friend’s parents or your relatives then do not forget to wish them. Wishing is a very good habit.
- When you are asked to do something by any elder person like bringing a glass of water or switching on the television then do it happily.
- Open the doors for the elderly people. These small actions cast a very good impression on others. Also you will be loved for these small and cute gestures.
- Learn the table manners properly. Teach your child how to use fork and knife and other simple manners.
- While eating use only your right hand and always keep a napkin with yourself so that you do not wipe your nose or hands on your clothes.
- When you are with your elders do not shout or be too noisy. Shouting won’t help you get attention instead it would irritate others.

How To Cure Stomach Ache In Kids
Hope these tips will help you all.
- Try to figure out why they have a stomach ache : Did they drink too much soda or had too much food? Do they have other symptoms?
- Stomach aches can be serious! If you find out that your child has swallowed a dangerous chemical or eaten something they shouldn't have, like a medicine tablet, call your local poison control center.
- Does your child have other symptoms besides a sore stomach? Are they constipated, throwing up, or have a fever?
- Take the child's temperature and call the child's doctor or a local nurse line (most hospitals have a free nurse line, but usually only say to go to the hospital or doctor's office.) for advice.
- If it is just a simple tummy ache, there are several things you can do:
- You can give them an over the counter children's stomach ache remedy.
- Tell them to lie down on their side. Encourage rest and sleeping.
- Have them drink a glass of water, but slowly. Stomach aches can occur when there is an acidity imbalance in the stomach due to the digestion of certain food/drinks and in certain combinations. Drinking lots of water will naturally dilute this imbalance (by comparison, over the counter stomach ache remedies work by neutralizing the acid in your stomach).
- Give them papaya, ginger or peppermint (in any form - fresh or dried, ingredient in foods, candy peppermints, or a chewable papaya pill found mostly at natural food stores)
- Distract them with a story or movie.
- Give them lots of hugs.
- Give them 1 piece of whole wheat bread or toast, no butter.
- Don't give them oily food and milk.
- Give them a warm bath.
- Warm a cloth in a microwave or a heating pad and put on your child's stomach.
- Ask them if they have to go the bathroom.
- Call the doctor if stomach ache doesn't get better in 24 hours.
- Get fresh, cool (but not cold) air.
- Rub some oil (not cooking oil) onto their stomach and leave it for a while.
- Lay down on your left side. Laying on your left side will cause the pain to go away because the acid or gas in the stomach is rising up and causing them to need to burp.
- Keep feet elevated. Doing that will help the pain go away.
- Make them a cup of tea, preferably chamomile
- Sometimes a sore stomach can be very serious so call a doctor if it hasn't cleared up in a 24 hours
- Some times your child may not be able to handle toast if not buy vegetable soup and put a scoop of mash in it if you can't buy soup go into a cafe and ask for it, and then if you want add wheat bread!
- Don't give them any soda. It will make the stomach ache worse.
- Distracting the child is good so they won't be worried about it. Also, if you are showing a movie, a drama is a good genre, because it allows the child to think about something else, thereby diverting their mind from the pain.
- Try to keep the room that your child is in cooled down.
- Convince him/her to lie down on the couch or in bed, let your child watch a movie or favorite tv show. Peppermint extract in water works well to soothe the stomach.
- Ask them if they had too much to eat, overeating can cause bloating or stomach aches.
- If the bug is going around your child may just have a different type of bug with big stomach pains!
- Don't panic or stress the child out.
- Lay down on your left side. Laying on your left side will cause the pain to go away because the acid or gas in the stomach is rising up and causing them to need to burp.
- Don't give them any oily foods and soda and or junk food.
- Give them some ginger ale and take them to the bathroom .
