Sweet Puttu is an South-Indian dish. It is a steamed rice cake which is favourite breakfast for many of them.
Ingredients:
Puttu podi/powder or roasted rice flour - 1 cup
Grated coconut(preferably fresh)-1/2 cup
Grated Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Hot Water - as required

Puttu podi/powder or roasted rice flour - 1 cup

Method:
- Take a big pan and add the puttu powder.
- Add 1 tbsp hot water at a time and mix well.
- Do not add water at once,add little by little till the flour becomes moist.
- Keep aside for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile,mix the coconut,jaggery and cardamom powder together.
- In a Chiratta Puttu mould,or a normal mould,place the coconut jaggery filling first and then the moist puttu powder,finish with some more coconut-jaggery filling.
- Close the lid.
- Steam it by keeping the puttu maker on a pressure cooker or a regular puttu making vessel for 5 minutes.
- Remove from mould carefully and serve hot.
